About Us
Mrs. Thacher & Ms. Meyer
This is Mrs. Thacher and Ms. Meyer's second year working together as co-counselors at Rolesville Elementary School. Together they have built a cohesive and inclusive counseling program for all students and families at RES. Both counselors have experience in a multitude of school settings both in North Carolina and Virginia, which enables them to be and equipped to work with a variety of populations and be prepared for a variety of situations. If you ever need anything at all, please never hesitate to reach out to them!
Mrs. Thacher will be working with Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grades.
Ms. Meyer will be working with 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades.

Individual & Group Counseling
These services are customized to meet the specific needs of each student or small group of students. Individual sessions are scheduled as needed or by request. Group counseling is scheduled periodically throughout the year and by special topics (i.e. friendship, school skills, self-control, etc). Typically students are nominated by parents and teachers for group sessions. We work collaboratively throughout the entire process and guarantee measurable results. Please contact us to learn more about individual and group counseling for your student.
504 Coordination
These services help to bring equity into the school environment for those who can be successful with the introduction of special accommodations or tools. Please contact us if you think your child could benefit from a 504 plan.

Classroom Guidance
Classroom guidance is conducted periodically throughout the year. Topics for guidance are chosen by conducting school/grade level needs assessments and through recommendations by the WCPSS. We work collaboratively throughout the entire process and guarantee measurable results, while also creating a fun and comfortable learning environment. Please contact us to learn more about the guidance lessons being planned for your students classroom this year.
Academic Support
As counselors, we are equally dedicated to the academic and social-emotional growth of your student. If you have any questions pertaining to helpful academic resources, tutoring opportunities, extra-curricular activities, 6th grade registration, or any other related concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out and we will point you in the right direction.
